Chorley Compost Gurus

Monday 30 June 2008

The Chorley Compost Gurus won the Recycling Award at Chorley’s first Smile Awards. The Smile Awards are like the Oscars, only for people who do good stuff in the Chorley community. They encourage households to compost their household waste and give advice to the public about green issues.

The presentation took place on Thursday 26 June 2008 at the Town Hall, Chorley and featured the Mayor and Councillors. Chorley Compost Gurus are Alan Compton and Estelle Bryers. They were both at the Compost Awareness Event at Myerscough College on May 7th.

If you live in Lancashire, you can ask for a free Composting Starter Kit, a free bin, kitchen caddy and regular newsletters.

I buried last years compost in the garden this spring, and I've had a great crop of fresh peas from it this month..

Excellent Poppy.

Well I've started to fill up my compost bin so hopefully I can put it to good use during the year.
